Available Courses

STA Level 2 Award in Teaching Swimming

The STA Award is the first step towards becoming a qualified swimming teacher. This qualification enables you to independently instruct groups of up to 12 children or adults, ranging from non-swimmers to improvers (Swim England Stages 1–7). Delivered over five days, the course combines both theoretical and practical elements. Assessment includes a tutor-marked workbook, an observed teaching session, and a multiple-choice examination. No prior experience is required; however, candidates must be aged 16 or above. Successful completion of this course awards 10 CIMSPA points. The course fee is £450.

STA Level 2 Certificate in Teaching Swimming

Progressing from the Award course, the Level 2 Qualification equips you to teach more advanced swimmers (Swim England Stages 5–10). This four-day programme combines both practical and theoretical components, with assessment consisting of a tutor-marked workbook and an externally observed teaching session. Candidates must be at least 16 years of age and hold the STA Award Qualification. Successful completion of this course awards 10 CIMSPA points. The course fee is £400.

SEQ Level 2 Teaching Swimming to Babies and Toddlers Qualification

Why not take the next step and expand your expertise by training to teach babies and toddlers, becoming a well-rounded teacher for all age groups?

There are two paths open for you.
1. Be over 18 and hold STA Safeguarding (Online course) SEE BELOW.
2. If you have already achieved the SEQ Level 2 Teaching Swimming Qualification (2022, Version 4) and wish to progress to this course, you may present your Level 2 certificate as evidence towards your assessment. This recognition of prior learning (RPL) means that certain elements will not need to be repeated. Please ensure that your certificate is uploaded at the time of enrolment.

The course fee is £350 for a three-day programme, available to those who already hold the SEQ Level 2 Teaching Swimming Qualification.

SEQ Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching) Qualification Courses

To begin your journey as a Swim England swimming teacher, you must first complete the SEQ Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching) Qualification, which enables you to support a Level 2 teacher and gain valuable experience. The course fee is £425 per participant; however, flexible payment plans are available, and courses may be combined where appropriate. SEQ Level 2 Teaching Swimming qualification

The SEQ Level 2 Teaching Swimming Qualification enables individuals to become fully qualified swimming teachers, capable of independently delivering lessons. The programme comprises both practical teaching experience and theoretical study, assessed by the course tutor. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age and already hold the SEQ Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching) Qualification. The course fee is £700 per participant; however, flexible payment plans are available, and courses may be combined where appropriate.
